To all members, stakeholders and the public at large,
The Calgary Football Officials Association has a long standing commitment to provide top level officials to the amateur leagues we serve in Calgary and surrounding area. While the 2020 spring seasons of the leagues have cancelled or delayed their start, our focus during this break is on our rules knowledge and to review our on-field mechanics and positioning so that we are ready when the leagues, players and coaches need our services.
Our Association offers the Football Canada Officials Certification program, in-season rules and mechanics clinics and a personal mentoring program to assist in the development of all officials. Whether it be Peewee, Bantam or Spring Leagues, or the PFC and USports games in our area, our Association commits to have competent, highly trained officials, skilled to work the games they are assigned.
Our Association is always looking for new members to join our association. New members will be required to be in good physical condition and to take a level 1 FCOCP Certification clinic in August. After the course is successfully completed, the recruit will be matched up with an experienced mentor who can answer all their questions, provide guidance and help the new recruit successfully integrate into the game as an official. Please see the Recruitment page for more information and contact our Recruitment Coordinator with any questions.
I look forward to the 2020 football season beginning in the near future, when our health experts say we can be safe to do so. Our goal will always be to serve the game and our leagues with the highest level of professionalism and respect for all in each and every game.
Stay safe and healthy during this challenging time.
Brendan Dolan
President, Calgary Football Officials Association.
