To all members, coaches, players, parents, and fans of football in Calgary and area,
The Calgary Football Officials Association is proud to continue our commitment to providing high-quality officials to amateur leagues we serve in Calgary and the surrounding area.
The 2024 season promises to be full of activity. From late March through to late November there will be a full schedule of league action. Additionally, new teams in several leagues, a new league for young ladies, and a Football Canada tournament in the summer will offer abundant opportunities for fans and players to enjoy the game. Through all of this, the officials of the CFOA will be pleased to do our part in keeping the games safe and fair.
The Calgary Football Officials Association is always looking for new members to join us on the field. Officiating offers a great way to keep in touch with the sport once playing days have come to an end. New members need to be in good physical condition and to take a level 1 certification clinic. After the course has been successfully completed, the new official will be matched up with an experienced mentor who can provide guidance and help them successfully integrate into the game. Please see the Recruitment page for more information and contact our Recruitment Coordinator with any questions.
Our members, whether seasoned veterans or rookies, are trained and certified football officials. This is further supported by in-season rules and mechanics clinics and a personal mentoring program. These men and women are dedicated to their craft and continued improvement. Additionally, to aid in bringing our best to the field, all officials complete the annual Canadian Football Officials Association national rules exam. The result is that from peewee to USports, and all leagues in between, our Association is committed to having competent, highly trained officials, prepared to work the games they are assigned.
I look forward to a spring, summer, and fall full of football. We wish the best to all stakeholders in the game. We are ready to perform our roles with the highest level of professionalism and respect for all involved.
Jeff Jackson
President, Calgary Football Officials Association.
