Football has grown significantly in recent years, and as a result we are in need of new officials to help keep up with that growth. If you are looking for a new challenge within a fast moving, hard hitting game, we would like to hear from you!

Officiating is a challenging and rewarding activity that allows us to be back on the field in the middle of the action. We are the third team on the field, and, like any team, we enjoy our on and off-field time together. Consider joining our team!

Attributes of a good official:

  • Good physical condition: mobile, good stamina (need to keep up with the players)
  • Studies the rules and positioning mechanics of the game
  • Maintains a professional attitude, both on and off the field

New officials start at the pee wee and bantam levels. As experience is gained over successive seasons, progression to higher levels such as high school and midget is typical. Advancement to the junior (PFC) and university levels will occur for the most dedicated officials after several years of experience and training. A select few are occasionally invited to join the CFL ranks!

If you would like to join the CFOA and become an official or you simply want to find out more information about our association, we encourage you to contact our recruiting coordinator Jeff Jackson ().
