There are two major components to our educational and training materials – the rule book (for Canadian amateur football) and mechanics (positioning and duties) manuals.
The official rule book is not available on-line. Football Canada has only published a paper version at this time. All of our officials are provided a rule book as part of the “level 1” training course. Please contact Football Alberta or Football Canada if you are a non-official seeking to obtain a rule book.
Mechanics manuals cover positioning and duties for officiating systems ranging from 3-official to 7-official configurations. The number of officials on the field increases as the speed and skill level of league increases. Printed mechanics manuals are provided to officials as they complete certification training courses. Some mechanics manuals are being converted to electronic form (and will be posted), but these are not yet ready to be shared.
